Sit up straight! Or at least, that’s what we’ve all been told. But “good posture” isn’t just sitting rigidly upright like a statue – it’s a dynamic balance of strength, mobility and awareness. Poor posture can cause headaches, joint stiffness, and back/neck pain.
But the good news? You can fix it!
Physiotherapy isn’t just for injuries; we also focus on improving function and preventing problems before they start. We analyze your alignment, mobility, and muscle balance to create personalized treatment plans. Strengthening weak muscles, releasing tight ones, and improving body awareness are often part of the process – small adjustments, big impact.
Want a quick tip? Try the “chest up, chin tucked” trick: imagine a string pulling the top of your head toward the ceiling. Sternum forward, chin slightly down, shoulder blades down and back. Start with short but frequent intervals and gradually increase your hold time. Need a reminder? Set an alarm on your phone or smartwatch! Pair that with regular movement breaks, range-of-motion exercises, and stretching tight areas to keep your posture in check.
If stiffness, tension, or discomfort are limiting you, a physiotherapist can help you straighten things out – literally!
At The Joint Physiotherapy, we’ll support you every step of the way!
